Actor, Writer, Funny Person

About!

Alexa Lostaunau is a Peruvian-American actor, writer, singer, mover and groover and clown. Born just outside of Boston, she moved to New York City after high school to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She is passionate about collaborating with fellow artists to create work that is both meaningful and delightfully absurd.

Her love of storytelling was evident early on; in first grade she began to write books for the classroom library. Then an unexpected obsession with The Avengers was what opened her eyes to film as a whole. Making silly faces since childhood she's always loved bringing laughter to others.

A graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Alexa earned her Associate in Occupational Studies and was selected as a Company Member. During her Company year, she worked with directors across a range of productions, including the collaboratively devised clown piece MAD MAD MAD, which went on to perform Off-Off Broadway. The experience deepened her love of physical comedy, creating with others and devising original work.

Thoughtful, observant, and endlessly curious, Alexa strives to create stories that center underrepresented voices while embracing the messy, funny, and deeply human moments that connect us all.

In recent news…

Alexa is currently acting in and will be producing a stage production of Matt & Ben by Mindy Kaling and Brenda Withers later this 2026. She is excited to start this adventure with her two friends, Melody Staller and Fernando Zermeno Garavito, who are also co-producers, with Melody playing Matt, and Fernando as our director. And Alexa as Ben.

She read the play and loved the concept of two women playing two white men, with ties to her hometown, and she wanted to bring her own version to life.
